......Chefs Salatiel Reyes and Rogi Gramajo,
.............Festive Foods, Bethesda MD

Chefs Salatiel Reyes and Rogi Gramajo have been working in different capacities for Festive Foods Catering in Bethesda, Maryland since the early 1990's. Sal, a native of Guatemala, first met Festive Foods co-owner Howard Foer in the alley behind Yardy’s Restaurant in Bethesda while they where taking out the trash for their respective businesses. After getting to know and learn about each other, Howard offered Sal the line cook position at Festive Foods - and, as they say, the rest is culinary history.


Sal, has held first cook duties at the Inn at Glen Echo, Comus Inn and the Manor Country Club, all fine restaurants in Maryland, while also working at Festive Foods. Along with Rogi Gramajo, also from Guatemala, he took over the duties of Kitchen Manager three years ago. In his spare time he works out at Bally’s Total Fitness and, when he can break away from watching Soccer and Football, dines with his girlfriend at their favorite restaurant, El Gavilan, on Flower Street in Silver Spring.

What Rogi likes best about the ever-changing job of catering is producing the Tasting Meals for prospective Festive Foods clients -- anxious brides, demanding executives, and the hosts of the Washington, DC, areas finest parties. His attention to detail in preparation and presentation is evident in the great success Festive Foods has enjoyed. Married, with three daughters, Rogi spends his spare time at his daughter’s favorite restaurant, Chuck E. Cheese, or preparing their favorite foods -- ice cream, pizza and macaroni and cheese. With his wife, Rogi also enjoys the very fresh Mexican cooking at Tijuana Mexican Café on Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring.
