...................Chef Eugene Ngono, Dean & Deluca, ---------------------Washington DC

Our chef of the month happens to spend more hours at
Dean & Deluca than he does at home these days!
Chef Eugene Ngono is responsible for the numerous
culinary delights found in the cases at the Georgetown
specialty store along with the fine catering trays that
leave the kitchen of Dean & Deluca. Chef Eugene was
born in Cameroon but spent most of his earlier years
in France. He studied at the Toulouse Culinary School
& spent his first years perfecting his talents working for
a large French hotel corporation. After many long
hours spent in hotel kitchens he ventured to Barcelona,
Spain and Tanzania where he was hired as a corporate
chef for large airlines company.


Homesick for France he moved back to Paris where
he taught culinary Arts at Cergy Pontoise and
eventuallybecame chef at L’escargot, Le Jardin des
iles... Afterworking many years in Europe Chef Eugene
decided toventure to the U.S. He accepted a position
at the NewYork City location of Dean & Deluca and
then wasoffered the job in Georgetown. In addition
to his artistictalents in the kitchen, Chef Eugene
is also a very talentedartist in his spare time!
He is fluent in Spanish, French,and English and admits
to being a “junk food” lover. He loves all pastries,
burgers, & steak & cheese subs.Somehow,
he finds time for regular exercise to help keepoff the
pounds. In addition to someday opening his
ownrestaurant, Chef Eugene would love to help children with
special needs & behavioral problems.

Dean & Deluca.

Dean & Deluca is located at 3276 M St in Georgetown. Their hours of operation are 10 AM to 8PM Sunday thru Thursday and 10AM to 9PM Friday & Saturday. They also have an outdoor café that is open daily at 8 AM.
