Available Positions

1st Shift Delivery Driver (Richmond)

1st Shift Delivery Driver (DOT Medical Card Required).

Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 4:30 am – end of route.

The objective of the Delivery Driver is to ensure that produce, dairy, and dry good products are delivered to customers in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The Delivery Driver is also responsible for communicating any customer preferences or issues to the Transportation Department Managers and Supervisors as well as the Customer Care Department. Finally, the Delivery Driver is responsible for operating vehicles in a safe and professional manner as well as reporting any vehicle maintenance issues using proper inspection format and verbal communication to supervisors.

Description:

  • Performs deliveries, pick-ups, and returns of produce, dairy products, and dry goods to/from customers and suppliers.
  • Use the Mobilecast program to review route assignments and log whereabouts while making deliveries using a Direct Connect handset/phone
  • Review paperwork for assigned route(s) to ensure all invoices are present and in good condition
  • Inspect cargo loads to ensure they are packed appropriately
  • Prepares customer orders by verifying them with delivery invoices for accuracy, delivering them to customer facility, and assisting with check-in and placement of products at the client facility. Receives signatures on invoices for items delivered and collects any cash on delivery payments when necessary.
  • Completes, organizes, and turns in all appropriate paperwork and invoices, making sure that all checks and monies are balanced and included in the drop.
  • Ensures that all vehicles are cleaned out properly and the end of each shift.
  • Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections in proper Department of Transportation (DOT) format

Requirements: 

  • Requires a large degree of walking and climbing in and out of trucks throughout each workday.

  • Outside work for extended periods of time throughout each workday
  • High school diploma or it’s equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable driving experience

  • Ability to operate automatic 26ft box truck
  • Ability to interact with customers and be a frontline representative of the Company
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to obtain and DOT Medical Examiner’s card

Order Selector (Landover)

Order Selector – Full-time

  • Reading customer orders accurately.
  • Locating and selecting the specific warehouse items to fulfill the customer’s order.
  • Operating Electric Riding Jack and other warehouse machinery to stack items and prepare orders for shipping.
  • Placing the prepared orders in the correct dock slips for loading onto shipping trucks.
  • Performing visual inspections of orders to ensure they are correct and ready for shipment.
  • Labeling order shipments correctly for easy identification.
  • Applying shrink wrap to the prepared order before shipping.
  • Following warehouse safety procedures for the operation of equipment, such as wearing proper clothing, safe food handling, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings and the other workers when transporting items.
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and organized at all times.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years direct order pulling experience preferably in the produce industry
  • Warehouse distribution and produce knowledge

Precut Worker (Landover)

Objective:

Pre-Cut Workers are the front line to all customer orders based on custom cuts of large bulk produce.  Pre-Cut Worker are responsible for cleaning, preparing, and packaging fruits and vegetables according to proper preparation methods.  The Pre-Cut Worker is also responsible for standard food service work including proper sanitation duties within the Pre-Cut Department

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepares all orders by selecting the proper product to be processed wither custom by hand or by machine.
  • Ensures proper sanitation methods are used from raw to ready to eat.
  • Places all orders into the specially designated receptacles.
  • Uses scales and identifies proper tare weights for pricing on products.

Working Conditions/Job Environment:

  • Degree of physical demands (strength) usually associated with this position.
  • Requires repeated stooping and bending.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying of boxed/bagged fruits and vegetables
  • Require continuous standing for extended periods of time.
  • Environmental conditions (physical surroundings and hazards) usually associated with this position.
  • Working in a 35 degree (F) processing area for 8-10 hours on a daily basis
  • Working in a damp environment 8-10 hours on a daily basis

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1- 2 years in the food preparation/food processing field preferably in the produce industry
  • Knowledge of General Manufacturing Practices and procedures within a produce food preparation field
  • Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job under immediate supervision
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. on a repeated basis

Account Executive (multiple locations)

Job Summary:

A Keany Produce Account Executive is a sales and service position.  This job is a salary plus commission position – salary will reduce monthly once you’re on commission until you are paid fully by commission.  Account Executives are required to complete CRM in real-time and visit at least 20 customers/prospects per day.  They are the primary point of contact between their customers and Keany Produce and Gourmet.  A love of food is not required, but strongly encouraged.  If you are hard-working and like talking about food and the food industry, you will do well in this position.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Visit at least 20 customers and prospects per day and log all interactions into CRM.
  2. Enter CRM data daily to track sales pipeline progress accurately and effectively.
  3. Troubleshoot issues and develop partnerships with prospects and current customers.
  4. Work with the sales team to develop strategies to better service customers.
  5. Attend weekly in-person meetings with your sales team.
  6. Deliver a high level of customer service to all customers.
  7. Identify new avenues for selling products we have in stock.
  8. Develop relationships with customers to create stickiness and loyalty to Keany Produce.
  9. Supply customers with timely responses regarding order/shipment status, product information, pricing, and company information.
  10. Solve customer problems by listening to customer’s concerns and providing practical solutions.
  11. Understand our competition and bring valuable insights back to the sales leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree, preferred. Individuals with less education but with prior Food Service Industry experience will also be considered.
  2. 2-5 years direct sales experience in the foodservice or produce industry preferred.
  3. Ability to speak to new people and have an engaging conversation.
  4. Strong presentation skills and ability to work independently in a flexible environment.
  5. Ability to influence clients and staff at all levels.
  6. Ability to travel to customers via car. This position provides a car allowance, will cover fuel, oil changes, and provide a company credit card for work-related expenses.
  7. Possess high energy and a team attitude.
  8. Ability to express yourself clearly and concisely verbally and in writing.
Credit Lead (Landover)

The Credit Lead is responsible for managing the credit and collections activities of the organization. This role involves assessing credit risk, setting credit policies, managing customer accounts, and working to optimize the organization’s credit and collections processes. The Credit Lead will also provide leadership and guidance to the credit team, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Credit Assessment and Risk Management: Evaluate creditworthiness of potential and existing customers. Approve or deny credit applications based on established criteria. Monitor and analyze customer credit risk and exposure.
  2. Credit Policy Management: Develop, implement, and maintain credit policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations. Regularly review and update credit policies to mitigate risk.
  3. Customer Account Management: Oversee the management of customer accounts, including credit limits and payment terms. Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to resolve credit-related issues. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit transactions.
  4. Collections: Lead and coordinate collection efforts to minimize overdue receivables. Develop and implement strategies to improve collections performance. Negotiate payment plans and settlements with delinquent customers.
  5. Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on credit and collections activities, highlighting key metrics and trends. Analyze credit data and financial statements to identify potential risks and opportunities. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
  6. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the credit team, providing training and development opportunities. Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in credit and collections, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  3. Strong understanding of credit risk assessment and management principles.
  4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and credit management software.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Receiver (Landover)

The Receiver is responsible for the safe operation of the forklifts and ensuring that produce and dairy products being delivered to Keany Produce are received from its suppliers and stored in the proper manner within the Keany Produce warehouse areas.

  • To handle the forklift in a safe and consistent manner following the user guidelines and Keany warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
  • To ensure proper warehouse storage of produce items so that inventory is managed in such a way that inventory is housed in the correct location and the oldest inventory is used first.
  • To ensure that products are stored safely and that a clean warehouse environment is maintained.
  • To input data for received items in the system to reflect current inventory levels.
  • To transfer inventory to other warehouse departments and properly dispose of damaged products.
  • To pull produce and dairy products for specific government orders.
  • Cleaning the warehouse area including sweeping and removal of any boxes

Job Requirements 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 – 2 years direct receiving and operating a forklift preferably in the produce industry
  • Warehouse receiving and storage processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of product types and the ability to make judgments on product quality
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, and have good organizational skills.
  • Able to drive a stand-up forklift truck
  • Able to lift and load cases on to warehouse shelves properly and safely
  • Ability to read put-away reports and match with slot location and case product description
Tomato Receiver (Landover)

The Tomato Receiver is responsible for the safe operation of the forklifts and ensuring that produce being delivered to Shenny Tomato is received from its suppliers and stored in the proper manner within the warehouse areas.
