1st Shift Delivery Driver (DOT Medical Card Required).

Schedule: Monday-Saturday, 4:30 am – end of route.

 

Overview:

The Delivery Driver ensures that produce, dairy, and dry good products are delivered to customers in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations. The Delivery Driver is also responsible for communicating any customer preferences or issues to the Transportation Department Managers and Supervisors as well as the Customer Care Department. Finally, the Delivery Driver is responsible for operating vehicles in a safe and professional manner as well as reporting any vehicle maintenance issues using proper inspection format and verbal communication to supervisors.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Performs deliveries, pick-ups, and returns of produce, dairy products, and dry goods to/from customers and suppliers.
  • Use the Mobilecast program to review route assignments and log whereabouts while making deliveries using a Direct Connect handset/phone
  • Review paperwork for assigned route(s) to ensure all invoices are present and in good condition
  • Inspect cargo loads to ensure they are packed appropriately
  • Prepares customer orders by verifying them with delivery invoices for accuracy, delivering them to customer facility, and assisting with check-in and placement of products at the client facility.
  • Receives signatures on invoices for items delivered and collects any cash on delivery payments when necessary.
  • Completes, organizes, and turns in all appropriate paperwork and invoices, making sure that all checks and monies are balanced and included in the drop.
  • Ensures that all vehicles are cleaned out properly and the end of each shift.
  • Perform and document pre-trip and post-trip inspections in proper Department of Transportation (DOT) format

 

Work Requirements/Condition: 

  • Requires a large degree of walking and climbing in and out of trucks throughout each workday.

Qualifications, Skills, & Experience:

Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $18.50 – $19.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Order Selector (Landover)

Schedule:

Start time: 5PM until completion (often requires overtime)
Off Saturday and one other day during the week except Sundays and Thursdays

 

Location: Landover, MD

 

Overview:

Order Selectors are the front line to all customer orders as their main function is to prepare product from inventory for outbound shipping. The order selector is responsible for selecting customer orders and fulfilling them as quickly and as accurately as possible, this includes selecting, staging, palletizing and loading of customer orders to be delivered without damage or error.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Reading customer orders accurately.
  • Locating and selecting the specific warehouse items to fulfill the customer’s order.
  • Operating Electric Riding Jack and other warehouse machinery to stack items and prepare orders for shipping.
  • Placing the prepared orders in the correct dock slips for loading onto shipping trucks.
  • Performing visual inspections of orders to ensure they are correct and ready for shipment.
  • Labeling order shipments correctly for easy identification.
  • Applying shrink wrap to the prepared order before shipping.
  • Following warehouse safety procedures for the operation of equipment, such as wearing proper clothing, safe food handling, and maintaining awareness of your surroundings and the other workers when transporting items.

Precut Line Worker (Richmond)

Schedule: Sunday -Friday 6:30am to Completion

 

Job Purpose/Objective:

Pre-Cut Workers are the front line to all customer orders based on custom cuts of large bulk produce.  Pre-Cut Workers are responsible for cleaning, preparing, and packaging fruits and vegetables according to proper preparation methods.  The Pre-Cut Worker is also responsible for standard food service work including proper sanitation duties within the Pre-Cut Department.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare all orders by selecting the proper product to be processed either custom by hand or by machine.
  • Ensures proper sanitation methods are used from raw to ready-to-eat.
  • Places all orders into the specially designated packaging materials.
  • Uses scales and identifies proper tare weights for pricing on products.
  • Ensures quality of all products processed.

 

Working Conditions/Job Environment:

  • Degree of physical demands usually associated with this position are:

Precut Selector – PM Shift (Richmond)

Job Summary:

The Selector receives order assignments from warehouse dispatch and builds the routes that will be going out the next day.  Responsible for avoiding shorts, miss-ships and damaged or outdated product going out to customers.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Manage all labels printed for every route and filling the orders accurately, palletized by route.
  • Managing any add-ons for those routes and getting them together with the rest of the route.
  • Opening and closing routes when complete and accurate. Reporting short products to the supervisor.
  • Check quality of product and production date to ensure only the best quality is shipped to customers.
  • Making sure the boards with shorts are noted and the drivers do not leave without their entire Pre-Cut behind.
  • Cleaning and organizing the work area at shift end.

 

Working Conditions:

  • This position requires irregular hours to include nights, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Temperatures can be as low as 35 degrees in some areas.

Production Sanitation Technician (Richmond)

Job Summary:

The Sanitation employee is responsible for supporting, cleaning, and sanitizing function of the precut operation. This position includes an active participation in the tasks necessary to ensure that Keany Produce & Gourmet manufactures and distributes safe and consistent products of the highest quality and that all products follow regulatory requirements, customer specs and company standards.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Create and maintain an efficient, hygienic, and positive working environment.
  • Promote health and safety in the workplace.
  • Understand GMP, sanitation standard operating procedures, and inspection regulations.
  • Reading chemical labels or safety data sheets (SDS) to learn how to properly handle chemicals.
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing tools, equipment, and environment of the food processing area using various chemicals such as chlorinated alkaline detergents, acid detergents and different sanitizers.
  • Responsible for cleanliness of the food plant using water pressure hose.

Job Purpose/Objective:

The Fleet and Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of fleet operations and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This role focuses on developing and implementing safety programs, monitoring driver performance, maintaining regulatory compliance, and reducing risks associated with fleet operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Safety Program Management:

• Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Fleet Operations Oversight:

Credit Manager (Landover, MD)

Job Purpose/Objective:

The credit manager position is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses. The Credit Manager is also responsible for oversight of the accounts receivable department, including proper application of cash receipts and oversight collections. This includes analysis of accounts receivable aging summaries and details at a customer and company level.

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

• Managing the credit management function and overseeing the credit control function within currently established guidelines.

• Leading, managing, and motivating credit analysts to achieve collections targets.

• Monthly reporting of the Key Performance Indicators for the department, including updating the CFO on the status of the Company’s ageing reports monthly and preparing a thoughtful process to resolve any potential issues.

• Managing relationships and with the clients to reduce exposure to potential bad debt.

• Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare report on highest risk accounts including recommendations for resolution.

• Main contact with collection agencies and attorneys in the event of potential bad debts. Maintains bad debt and collection records and reports.

• Preparation of weekly cash forecasts including customer collections. Works with Accounting Manager to update the weekly cash forecast.

• Responsible for managing cash collections specialist and ensuring staff is properly applying cash payments in an accurate and timely manner.

• Work closely with the sales team in moving customers through the approval process. Able to inform sales of the current credit policy and any changes that are necessary due to new laws or industry practices because of changes in the market.

• Assists CFO, as needed, with management functions such as timely financial reporting, hiring, staff scheduling, annual reviews and compensations decisions, training, coaching, and counseling, and terminations.

Job Purpose/Objective:

The Jr/Associate Buyer plays an essential role in the acquisition and procurement of their assigned categories and will ensure that inventory levels are adequate to meet the current business demands. This role collaborates closely with suppliers to negotiate pricing and ensure supplier adherence to our specifications and high-quality standards.  Precise communication with managers and other stakeholders is essential to this role.  Additionally, the Jr/Associate Buyer will be tasked with managing inventory effectively to reduce shrinkage for their assigned categories.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Ensure the entry of purchase orders to uphold adequate inventory levels corresponding to the current business demands.

Staff Accountant (Landover, MD)

Overview:

This position assists in full cycle accounting for multiple operational divisions, from day-to-day accounting tasks up to and including month end close responsibilities and financial reporting. Position has the responsibility for maintaining general ledger accounts and assisting in preparing monthly financial statements. Position reports directly to the Controller and will work alongside the Asst. Controller and Sr. Accountant while having direct exposure to the CFO as part of the financial reporting process. Potentially responsible for up to two direct reports depending on level of experience.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist in preparing month end financial statements for multiple operational divisions, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flows. This preparation includes a monthly reporting package including KPI data, including detailed explanations for variances from budget. This position would play a key role in the development of the annual budget.
  • Month end close responsibilities include journal entries, bank reconciliations, and analytical review against prior year and budget.
  • Manages payment of vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; managing the scheduling and preparation of checks; resolving payables clerks’ questions on purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Move packages, pallets, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, by hand or using pallet trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
  • Perform all required procedures and documentation in a safe and efficient manner to maintain the highest quality finished product for our customers
  • Ability to learn inventory and receiving systems
  • Accurately and efficiently load finished product onto trucks and trailers
  • Communicate to supervisors, selectors, and receivers to maintain product flow and prevent distribution disruptions
  • Report all safety concerns immediately to leadership
